Tipping on vacation can be a pretty hot topic, but tipping on your way, or at Disney even more so. Yes, these people do make an hourly wage, but just because you go on vacation doesn't mean you don't have to tip. After all, the person back home who cuts your hair, or serves you a meal gets a tip, right? Vacation shouldn't be any different in some of those areas. Other areas are optional. Our first trip there, it never even occurred to me to tip for cleaning our room. Our second trip, we had the nicest lady cleaning our room. She made the most wonderful towel animals for our kids, but since I didn't have any small bills, I thought I'd just leave a larger tip when we checked out, and that's what I did. That was years ago, but it still bothers me because I keep wondering, what if she had done ALL that work, and never got the tip? She really went out of her way to make our stay special, and I didn't have enough foresight to thank you daily. This next trip, I've remedied that. While I'm not as clever to make some super cute thank you mousekeeping envelopes, like some of these people below, I do have an envelope for each night's stay, with a small thank you note on it and a few dollars inside. Look at some of these? Aren't they just adorable??!! What I like best about these, is that they are DOABLE! There are so many that are just beyond my making! But these all seem like a normal person could do them! You can click on the photo and it will take you directly where I saw these. http://www.everydayadventureswithkids.com/2013/02/mouse-keeping.html
