Have you ever started unpacking your suitcase only to find the handle snapped off your new Haunted Mansion mug? Or the brand new Minnie Ears snapped in half when you tried them on one more time? For us, it was the Donald Duck Hat, the back kept unsnapping, and we didn't know why until examining closely we realized there was a crack running the length of the adjuster. So what happens? Are you totally out the money you spent? Are you stuck with a glued on handle you hope won't break when you drink your morning coffee? Not necessarily. The same incredible customer service that Disney has IN the Parks and Resorts also often extends once you are back home. Stories of replaced mugs, ornaments and even toys like those light up bubble wands fill the internet. There's a bit of a trick though to make sure you have the best shot at getting your item replaced. Let them know ASAP You have a better chance if you contact Disney as soon as you find the item was damaged. Be sure to be polite. Sometimes an item just breaks. It doesn't mean it was anyone's fault. They usually will want to verify that you were shopping when you said you were, so also: Save your receipts! We needed to produce our receipt for that Donald hat. Luckily, I'd saved it along side of three zillion other ones. This proved to Disney that yes, I'd bought the item and that also, I had bought it recently, not a year ago. Next, be sure that you: Take photos of the item's damage It's easier to see the damage in a picture, and it shows that you are being truthful. I'm sure that the readers here wouldn't ever try and scam, but people do. Be truthful. Point out the chip, the crack, the torn seam in your spirit jersey, whatever. If you have it, also take photos of any item numbers or the tags. It's also helpful to say which store you got the item in. Then: Be patient It can take a while to hear back. Patience isn't one of my strong points. When I want something fixed, I haaaate waiting. But be patient. It can take up to a week to get that first email from them. Follow ups are usually quicker though! If all else fails If you've done all you can and Disney can't help you, there are a few other ways to get your item replaced. A personal shopper, Ebay and even Amazon can help you locate a replacement. While my fingers are crossed that you never arrive home with a broken item, if you do chances are good that Disney will take care of it for you. When it's all done and replaced, make sure you fill out a cast compliment for the person who helped you get the replacement so they can be thanked with a positive report on their work record.

When you got your Disney masks in, if they were a little snug for you we've got great news! Disney is making an XL size. Designed for those who the Large didn't quite fit, this might be your chance to wear your favorite designs more comfortably! Preorders are happening now, at ShopDisney. Not sure what size you need? There's a chart to measure with. We LOVE our masks, you can read about that here, however, the Large didn't fit Mr. Disney, so it will be great he can have these. When I let you guys know that Disney was selling face masks, I was over the moon. I ordered three sets, and they just came in a few days ago. Regardless about how you personally feel about face masks, in our area, and for our family they are the right choice, so I have bought a ton, looking for the perfect ones. We've tried Etsy, Old Navy, Vida (LOVE THOSE!) handmade ones from multiple people these Disney ones. The Disney masks... WOW. But there are a few things you need to know. I've heard these masks run small, but I disagree. The Disney masks are so soft. They are so comfortable, I forget I am wearing mine. We ordered the Marvel in a Medium, and it fits the 7 year old, though is a tad big. I adjusted it with a DIY paracord and clip method. The Mediums are too small for myself and our 12 year old. I ordered Large for the rest of us. They are too small for Mr. Disney Magic. These are 2 layers, polyester on the outside, and cotton in the inside and made in Hondurus. They form a good seal around the mouth, but there is no nose clip. If you want a third layer, I think it would be very easy to add on yourself with flannel. These are super comfy, and we love them so much!! I have heard that Disney is selling the masks individually for $5 each at Disney Springs and will also be in the Parks, so I plan to get a few of the designs that I love while we are there and I don't have. (And maybe a few more that I do!) Have you tried these yet? Do you love them as much as I do? I was absolutely shocked to hear that one of my kid's favorite chips was INVENTED at Disneyland! How amazing is that? The story goes that a restaurant had a ton of stale tortillas they had thrown out. A salesman suggested that they fry them and sell them as chips instead of just tossing them. The staff repurposed those throw aways, and the result became so popular, it was eventually snapped up by Frito Lays! You can click here to read the whole story while I head to the kitchen to snack on some Disney magic! There have been some great (and some not as great) movies and documentaries made about Walt Disney. Some are a little harder to find, others, you don't need to look farther than Amazon Prime! Here's a list! Have you seen any of these? Walt Before Mickey Thought not rated very highly, I actually really liked Walt Before Mickey. It's a good length for children to watch and get his story, and while yes, so many details are left out, and it's not perfect, its a good, heart warming movie. The actors were really good, you knew who to cheer for, and who to boo. A perfect starting movie for a young Disney fan, and I think that's huge, since many times, especially with children, things are too complicated for them to understand. Walt Disney: The American Experience If you want quality, you KNOW PBS is the place to deliver. A bit too long for a movie night, or for the younger kids, but with so much goodness stuffed in, this might be the absolute best documentary about Walt Disney. Walt The Man Behind The Myth With Dick Van Dyke narrating, even if you are feeling Disney's out (wait...is that even a thing?!) This is a great one to watch! Saving Mr. Banks I know...this isn't technically a movie about Walt, and it's not 100% true, but it's still a really good movie. It gives you some glimpses into how this movie was created, with Walt, the Sherman Brothers and spot on scenes of Walt's office. As Dreamers Do: The Amazing Life of Walt Disney Rated the lowest of all, I can't give my own opinion yet, because I havn't seen this one. It's in my queue, but since my kids want to watch it with me, it's been tough to find a time where we can. Have you seen this one ? I'm sure we are missing a few...what else have you found? There are loads of documentaries, that Walt is part of, but you know what I'd really like to see? A documentary about Roy, because he was so instrumental to Walt's success! Do you agree? |
