I LOVE the Small World ride. My oldest says it makes his eyes hurt, my youngest always says Whhhhhhhyyyyy and so this last trip, the way it worked out, we only got to go once, not twice. I'm not sure why I love it so much. Is it that glorious air conditioning, AND a nice place to sit as you take a gentle ride through the animatronic happy children singing? Is it the sloshing of the water, the bright colors (I am a very visual person) or maybe, it's the catchy song? I'm not sure, but I do love that ride. I also love the big clock at the entrance, but I never have time to give it a proper look, since we use our touring plan and never wait long in line. I'm not sure we've ever waited in line at Small World. But recently, I've been reading this fascinating Disney book, you can go here to see which one and I love how I can just read a few minutes here and there and some up with so much amazing information that I never knew about. For example, did you know... When Disneyland was doing the dedication ceremony for Small World, children from many different nations each poured water, held in containers from all the different parts of the world, into the water channels? How amazing! I'm not sure how often that gets drained, but some water would surly remain, so it really is truly a gathering of all the different countries in that ride. Amazing! Another neat fact I saw on a documentary, is that the original Small World song was sung much slower. Only the chorus that was a little faster and even that was slower than the song that we all know today. I kind of liked hearing the original version sung by the creator, he was a more thoughtful, and yes, easier to understand version! Do you love Small World? Or does it make you scream, like my Disney kids?
