It's been hard to think about Disney as of late. On so many groups, I see people planning their fall vacations, and all I can think about is the sorrow I feel that we, like so many others, will most likely have to cancel or postpone by a year our upcoming trip. Will Disney even be normal this fall, when this virus rebounds? While Disney has been AMAZING with so many free Disney things, and programs, it's not a substitute for a Disney trip! And you know what? It's okay to be sad. It's okay to grieve the loss of a Disney trip. Maybe you are like me, hanging on my a thread and a hope of pixie dust, maybe it just couldn't work out for you. Let's be honest, things are costing more, people are losing their jobs. There are medical problems, car problems, kid expenses, you name it, it's happening. While my greatest wish is that none of us go through that, that's just life. In our house, I lost 2 part time jobs, the jobs that pay for vacation, extra groceries and kid stuff, as well as make it less tight some months. We've also had mystery health problems, and so like many of you, I wonder, what will happen in the future. Having to cancel anything big, or when you experience a huge change in life, it's only normal to feel this way. The five stages of grief are: Denial - What?? Nah, this isn't really happening. Anger - Why me? Why is it ALWAYS me?! Bargaining - Well maybe if I can... Depression - This stinks. Everything stinks. Nothing's fair. Acceptance - Okay. this is how it is, and I'm going to just have to get through it If you need to feel sad, feel sad. If you need to cry as you rebook, even if it's years out, then do it. We don't know how Disney will change when they reopen, only that it will. how can it not? But maybe these changes won't be for the worst. Maybe instead of long standby lines, everything will be a virtual queue! Let's think positive. In the meantime, stay safe, stay healthy and remember, we are all in this together. Best of all, remember: "No matter how you heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true."
