If you ever thought to yourself, you wished a Fairy Godmother would combine your two favorite stores into one, I thank you. Target PLUS a Disney Store is the dream come true I never knew I had until now! Launching October 4th of this year, 25 Disney Stores will be put INTO Targets! Another 40 stores will open the following year. While I don't have much hope we will luck out here locally in our small area, I've got my fingers crossed! You can visit Target's website and read more, or you can google news articles. Sorry! Every time I tried to add a link, my browser froze! Hopefully that doesn't continue into future articles. Are you excited? I am!! One more reason for me to love Target! Maybe that line of goodies they had last year was a trial period to see how popular it would be. Disney sure hit everyone with a LOT of new, immediate fees, and increases on things like the annual pass, the reusable shopping bags (just about doubled!) parking and more. The new parking fees are as follows: Value Resorts are now $15 a night to park Moderate Resorts $20 a night to park Deluxe Resorts $25 a night to park At this time, you will still get complimentary parking at theme parks, if you choose to take your own vehicle. It's no secret that Disney's stopping the plastic straws is a trending conversation, one that leads to some heated points of view, but no matter which way you are thinking, there is somthing to be aware of in the new paper straws department. Several Disney allergy groups, have comments saying in Disney LAND their servers told them the paper straws are corn based. In Walt Disney WORLD there are reports of soy being used in the ink, one person even saying that some of the straws had gluten. If you, or someone you know has any of these allergies, stop and check on the straws, before you use them. Disney changes suppliers often, so what they have today, might be totally different next week. I can't confirm this myself just yet, but on our upcoming trip I plan to see for myself. (With yes, my plastic straws in my backpack.) I don't feel confident in vacation sterilizing my allergy kiddo's straws, so we are planning to bring a few plastic, until we can confirm that the paper are safe, for our allergies. If you aren't among the fortunate to get a chance to visit Walt Disney's office, then here is an amazing YouTube tour, including a tour guide. You can see many original items that Walt actually used and touched, as well as reproductions. The guide is fantastic at telling what is original, and what is not. What strikes me, is how small the rooms are, even with a few of the areas being renovated to make them larger. Can you imagine, stepping where Walt did? Sitting in one of the chairs, and him coming down the hall? It's amazing to think about. Enjoy the video! |
