Disney sure hit everyone with a LOT of new, immediate fees, and increases on things like the annual pass, the reusable shopping bags (just about doubled!) parking and more.
The new parking fees are as follows:
Value Resorts are now $15 a night to park
Moderate Resorts $20 a night to park
Deluxe Resorts $25 a night to park
At this time, you will still get complimentary parking at theme parks, if you choose to take your own vehicle.
It's no secret that Disney's stopping the plastic straws is a trending conversation, one that leads to some heated points of view, but no matter which way you are thinking, there is somthing to be aware of in the new paper straws department.
Several Disney allergy groups, have comments saying in Disney LAND their servers told them the paper straws are corn based. In Walt Disney WORLD there are reports of soy being used in the ink, one person even saying that some of the straws had gluten.
If you, or someone you know has any of these allergies, stop and check on the straws, before you use them. Disney changes suppliers often, so what they have today, might be totally different next week. I can't confirm this myself just yet, but on our upcoming trip I plan to see for myself. (With yes, my plastic straws in my backpack.) I don't feel confident in vacation sterilizing my allergy kiddo's straws, so we are planning to bring a few plastic, until we can confirm that the paper are safe, for our allergies.
If you aren't among the fortunate to get a chance to visit Walt Disney's office, then here is an amazing YouTube tour, including a tour guide. You can see many original items that Walt actually used and touched, as well as reproductions. The guide is fantastic at telling what is original, and what is not. What strikes me, is how small the rooms are, even with a few of the areas being renovated to make them larger. Can you imagine, stepping where Walt did? Sitting in one of the chairs, and him coming down the hall? It's amazing to think about. Enjoy the video!
For the last few weeks, the Sky Gondolas connecting Disney's Pop Century and art of Animation Resorts, to Caribbean Beach, Epcot and Hollywood Studios have been in testing phase. While originally, it was thought the new transportation mode would be up this fall, could it be sooner? All of the pictures shown have been with a covering of some sort over the gondola, so pictures haven't been exciting to see, except for the fact showing that they are on the move and it's possible ahead of schedule!
What do you think? ready to ride, or are you going to take a different way to and from the Parks?
After the recent sky goldala problem at Seaworld in California, where 16 people were trapped in the air for almost four hours, I'm not sure how I feel! I feel confident Disney is the safest theme park in the world, and I think they would try and right the situation if something happened, but still...that' got to be scary!
Yes...it's almost ridiculous how excited I am about the Disney Streaming Service, and I might check a few times a week for updates, but I'm just so excited! After the most recent article I read, I am even more anxious for a start date!
Some of the AWESOME things that will be on the Disney Streaming Service are, a docuseries on Disney Imagineering, possibly a new Monster's Inc cartoon show (Hoping they will stream Buzz Lightyear of Star Command and a few of the other great series they did based on movies), a live action of the Timmy Failure series of books, a remake of Lady and the Tramp, and possibly a remake of Sword in the Stone, and so much more!
Here's a really great article, if you are interested! Still no word on the cost yet, other than saying it will be less than Netflix. I'm glad to hear that! If it comes to picking and choosing, I don't want to have to skip Disney, because they are priced too high!
