A favorite souvenir for children is the building of a lightsaber. You can build your lightsaber at many different locations throughout Walt Disney World, including at Disney Springs, so no park ticket? No problem! Remember, you can do a lot of Disney, without a park ticket! This multi step process can take as little, or as much time as you'd like. On busier days, or if you get an over zealous cast member helping, they'll rush you along and you'll be done incredibly fast. Prices do change, but the more elaborate the lightsaber, the more it costs. There are different stations: Here are some close ups of the parts. These parts are interchangeable, so if you get more than one lightsaber, you can change the look later, mixing the pieces. As you can see, there is a LOT of customization that can be done. There are guides if you wish to copy an existing Jedi or Sith lightsaber, but I personally think it's more fun to create you own! Does your family have any of these?

If you ever thought to yourself, you wished a Fairy Godmother would combine your two favorite stores into one, I thank you. Target PLUS a Disney Store is the dream come true I never knew I had until now! Launching October 4th of this year, 25 Disney Stores will be put INTO Targets! Another 40 stores will open the following year. While I don't have much hope we will luck out here locally in our small area, I've got my fingers crossed! You can visit Target's website and read more, or you can google news articles. Sorry! Every time I tried to add a link, my browser froze! Hopefully that doesn't continue into future articles. Are you excited? I am!! One more reason for me to love Target! Maybe that line of goodies they had last year was a trial period to see how popular it would be. It was only a matter of time, right? No more plastic straws in the parks, (for free) but now, you can be the proud owner of reusable Disney straws! Sarcasm aside, luckily, these aren't too expensive, ($10 for 8) and they would be a fun and inexpensive way to add a little Disney to your day, or a great souvenir for the folks back home. Let's be honest here...these ARE going home with me in a few weeks, even if I won't use them there. These straws come with a brush to clean them, however, they are NOT dishwasher safe. I wonder if they would melt, or survive! If you buy a pack, let me know! Not getting to the park any time soon? You can buy them from ShopDisney! Just click here, or on the picture and you'll go right to their page. I'm hoping for a few different colors to match all of my Rapid Refill Mugs! how about you? Are you one of those people that can't pass by a pressed penny machine without stopping for a souvenir? Disney make's it very easy to indulge in that adventure, with over well over 100 different machines on Disney World property! You can press pennies, and in a few select locations, you can even press quarters! In case you need a place to put all those pressed coins, most of the gift shops sell a nice looking souvenir pressed coin book. Click the picture below to buy one before your trip, at the ShopDisney site! While we have never done anything with ours other than collect, I have seen some amazing things made out of these pressed coins! Necklaces, bracelets and keychains are all ideas if you don't want to just keep them in a book. If you have ever wished that you had a map of the locations of each machine, Disney is there to help! Recently they added the location of each machine in the My Disney Experience App, but you can also click here, to go to the official Disney website and browse locations or print maps! Are you going to be hunting for these on your next trip? Do you like to Disney up your phone? I do! A year or so I discovered an amazing app that if you don't already know about, you will love! Just go to google play, or the apple store, and search for ZEDGE. Zedge is an amazing app with more FREE wallpapers, notifications and ringtones that you can count, all searchable. They have so much on there, not just Disney, but why would you want anything else?! Search by Disney, or, be specific, like Moana, or Peter Pan. I suggest that you search both ways. It all depends on the person who uploaded it as to how specific they were with the title, I have found Peter Pan ringtones under Disney, but not Peter Pan, and so on. If you are missing the monorail spiel, that's on there too! You can save favorites, download to your phone, and bring a little Disney every where you go!! |
